Raccoons In My Attic

Have a raccoon in your attic? Learn of why raccoons try to get in attics, how to identify if a raccoon is in your attic, and the damage they can cause if they do enter your home.

How Are Raccoons Getting In My Attic?

Noises in the attic are common calls for us year-round and can often be mice or squirrels although, during the winter or early spring it is typically a raccoon finding a warm spot for the winter and a spot to have babies in the spring.

Gable ends on homes and apartment buildings are common entry points for raccoons if there is rotten wood or broken screen on the gable end. Typically, you can tell if a raccoon is in the attic by investigating the entry point. Raccoons can fit into tight spaces although if a raccoon is the pest in your attic your will see the metal on the gable end bent and see hair, and dirt or grease mark around the entry point. Above is an image of a raccoon entry point on a gable end.

It is common that if the mother raccoon has babies in the attic, she will place her young in between the studs of the wall to keep them contained and only accessible to her. Removing the mother raccoon from the attic is one part of the solutions where if there are young left behind, you may hear whining from them. If the young are within the studs of the wall and cannot be reached through the attic this may require cutting through the drywall.

Many believe getting a raccoon out of an attic requires the pest control technician to live catch the animal however, this is not the case. Raccoons are best removed from the attic by setting an exclusion trap or gripping trap over the entry point because the raccoon will have to leave the attic again to get water.

An exclusion trap is a one-way door that the raccoon or raccoons if multiple can push through, closing behind them allowing them to exit without reentering. Above is an image of an exclusion trap on a raccoon entry point held open with a screw for demonstration.

After the raccoons have been removed the technician can inspect the attic and take pictures to see if an attic cleanout is necessary.

Using the right product for the type of microbe you are killing.

Each disinfectant has active ingredients that target specific microbes. The EPA registers each disinfectant on the basis of the target microbes it is proven to kill. This information can be found on the disinfectant’s label.

           Clean surfaces prior to disinfecting.

Leaving materials on the surface that you are disinfecting is one of the biggest mistakes in disinfecting practices. The following materials could affect a disinfectant’s efficacy and must be removed prior to disinfecting: Proteins (food, blood). These materials may absorb and void some chemical disinfectants. The presence of any organic matter and other compounds such as soap left on the surface may neutralize some disinfectants as well.

Avoid cross-contamination issues by changing open solutions of disinfectant and applicators for each room.

Buckets, brushes, mops, sponges should be changed and sanitized for each room where disinfectants are applied and for different types of surfaces, such as the toilet and the sink.

           Follow the label.

Not only is it important to choose the proper concentration and quantity of chemical that is best suited for each disinfection situation, you will also need the contact time, temperatures, compatibility of the product and the surfaces it is allowed to come in contact with, the length of time the disinfectant is sits in or is stored in the application device, and the water hardness of the mixture.

What is the difference between cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing?

           Cleaning

removes germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces or objects. Cleaning works by using soap and water to physically remove germs from surfaces. This process does not necessarily kill germs, by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infections.

           Disinfecting

kills germs on surfaces or objects. Disinfecting works by using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces or objects. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infections.

           Sanitizing

lowers the number of germs on surfaces or objects to a safe level, as judged by public health standards or requirements. This process works by either cleaning or disinfecting surfaces or objects to lower the risk of spreading infections.

Routinely clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that are touched often (phones, tablets, truck door handles and interior of automobiles, tables, countertops, light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, desks, keyboards, toilets, faucets, sinks, etc.).

Be sure the disinfectant has the appropriate contact time (also known as kill time) on the treated surfaces.

Store disinfectants at the appropriate temperature. The disinfectant must be stored at the correct temperature to maintain its viability and to ensure effective action when it is used.

The heat treatment works by applying heat throughout the structure with a bed bug infestation. The temperature during this process is about 125–135 degrees Fahrenheit. By overheating the insects, Thermal remediation starts to dry out the bed bugs exoskeletons, causing dehydration and then eventually death to the bedbugs.

The propane heat system is set up outside the infested area. ducts are fastened to carry the heated air into the infested areas of your home or business. Temperatures on the propane system are closely monitored by our staff to ensure the air temperature reaches the desired 120 degrees. This technology is highly effective in killing all stages of bedbugs. this treatment raises the temperature of the interior of your home to a minimum of 130 degrees F. This treatment is good for customers who would like remediation of bedbugs with not very much prep. this treatment also will allow our customers to keep most if not all of their upholstered furniture items including their bed.

Do You have a bedbug infestation? Bed bugs can be very difficult to remove. here at Allpest Pest Control we have years of experience in eradicating bed bugs and can get rid of yours as well. One of the most efficient ways to treat the problem is with thermal heat treatments. this technology is highly effective and will kill all stages of bedbugs. what we do is raise the temperature of the interior of the structure to a minimum of 125 degrees Fahrenheit. This treatment is good for customers who would like remediation of bedbugs with very little prep work. this treatment also allows the customer to keep most any and all of their furniture items including mattresses and boxsprings.

Why Should I Use Heat To Kill Bedbugs

The secret to eliminating all stages of bedbugs is applying minimum heat of 125 degrees. While residential washers and dryers provide heat for killing bed bugs on clothing and bedding, it used to be impossible to apply that level of heat to mattresses and baseboards. Now, heat treatments allow your entire home to be safely treated with very high heat, including hard to reach areas where the pests might be hiding. such as in wall voids, under carpeting, etc. While it is safe for your belongings, such intense temperatures can be dangerous for untrained individuals. Our professional Technicians understand the dangers involved, and have undergone the appropriate training to safely handle the heating equipment.

How Does A Bed Bug Heat Treatment Work?

During the bed bug heat treatment process, our technicians will heat the entire house up to 125-135 degrees. The process must be done slowly to help heat crack and crevice , so there's no place for bedbugs to hide. our technicians will move or prop up any large items, like furniture, to make sure every side has received the right amount of heat. The heat is applied for around four hours to ensure proper bedbug removal, The computer system sensors allow us to monitor the temperatures throughout the house during the treatment process. This process can take between 6-8 hours to complete. This safe and effective treatment allows our customers the option to keep any and all of their furniture that has a bedbug infestation due to the safe and effective treatment.

Ok so you have gotten a Bedbug treatment and a lot of customers always ask, now what? A lot of people have heard that throwing out your mattress and box spring is the final step of the process of getting rid of bedbugs forever. honestly, it might help but that's not how you are going to get rid of the bedbugs. because bedbugs can infest anything especially where you rest the most beds, chairs, couches, etc.

Throwing out Your Mattress

Most Bedbug infestations occur in you Mattress and boxsprings of your bed they can also attach their eggs on bed frames as well as head boards. So it can be a decent idea to get rid of your entire bed especially if the infestation is very advanced When throwing out your bed, do so on the same day as your trash collection. This way, the infested bed won’t sit for too long in the vicinity it came from.

           Continue Washing Linens

If your not going to be throwing out your bed linens it is a very good idea to never stop washing them. since insecticide isn’t usually used on linens as part of bed bug treatment. Giving your linens a thorough wash through washing machine in hot water at least 125 degrees Fahrenheit can be an effective way to kill off any remaining pests post-bed bug treatment.

           Encasements

Whether you’re purchasing a new bed or keeping your old one, we highly recommended that you purchase mattress encasements that are specifically designed for protection from bed bugs. They usually last for one year before needing replacement. Once you’ve obtained a high-quality model, place it on the bed as the instructions outline and it will eventually kill off the bed bugs.

Despite being very small in size Termites are very well known around the state of Ohio to destroy homes. What many don’t realize, is the insects, unlike others, don't go dormant when the weather turns cold. In fact, they can do most of their destruction during the winter time. so I will explain to you in this blog how Termites are active year round.

When the cooler temperatures start to arrive in the fall in Ohio, We start notice an uptick in calls. To guard themselves against the freezing weather, termites will dig deeper tunnels into houses. Termites are also looking for food like other critters around Ohio, so they become even more active burrowing into wood and foundations of homes to get out of the cold temps.Termites also create nesting areas during the fall and winter. As they prepare for babies to arrive in the spring, the insects continue to dig deeper tunnels in and around the foundations of homes.

While termites are commonly associated with annihilating wood structures, they can also cause major damage to plaster, drywall, flooring, and furniture. There are several signs a house is infested. Be on the lookout for squeaky or loose floorboards, discolored drywall, and peeling paint. Tap on wood frames around doors and windows; if they sound hollow, termites may have created mudtubes there.

We also encourage homeowners to look for signs, such as the insects' fecal matter, which resembles small grains of pepper and salt, wood shavings, also Check your house's foundation for long tubes of mud, termites build these out of mud and their own fecal matter to burrow deep into structures. Keep an eye out for their discarded wings, which are generally clear and shiny like fish scales.

The last thing any home owner wants to hear is I think we have bedbugs! the question I get asked the most is where did I get these Parasites at? My answer every time is " you an pick up bedbug anywhere you go and sit and rest. like schools, buses, Doctor office, movie theaters, and Hospitals , etc. so in this blog I have put together a few tips on removing bedbugs from your home or apartment.

            How To Remove Bedbugs?

           1. Clean up Clutter

Bedbugs spend most of their time in hiding so cleaning up most of the clutter throughout your house or apartment will go along way. Just about the only time Bedbugs will come out of hiding is typically at night to feed on the host. Other than your mattress and furniture, they like piles of cloths ad general clutter. We at AllPest Pest Control recommend keeping your home tidy to reduce places for them to hide and allow you to focus on fewer treatment areas.

2.Wash Bed Linen and vacuum regularly

Your mattress and bed frame are going to be the main areas where bedbugs will be at. so I always recommend getting bedbug proof mattress covers for your Mattress and your box springs to further worsen the infestation. Washing and drying all your bed linen in high temperature washers and dryers. Running the vacuum throughout your home will pick up any adult bedbugs, eggs, and ecktoskeltons they shed after every time they feed.

            3. Call AllPest Pest Control

Lots of people tell me that when they think of bees they always think of the import ants of plant pollination, and a big honey producers. and I always come back with "well that harmless bee isn't the only type of bee that can be found in the Miami Valley" in this blog post I'm going to cover the carpenter bee. carpenter bees pose a huge threat to homeowners and can cause alot property damage throughout the Miami Valley.

           What Is a Carpenter Bee?

well lets start with first glance at these large bees. they are best distinguished by their large size and are usually between a half inch to one inch in length. their bodies are mostly covered in a shiny black color, with just the top section covered in yellow fuzz. just like regular bees, Carpenter bees feed on nectar and pollen found in plants. however, unlike their cousins they don't live in hives or large social groups. instead, they can be found alone making individual nest by burrowing into wood. they also stay dormant in those burrows all winter long only to reemerge in the spring time.

Why Call AllPest Pest Control To Deal With Them?

Whenever you do start to notice these Large bees buzzing around your home or maybe even your barn or shed, that's when its time to call an exterminator to solve your Carpenter bee problem. if you don't take care of them Carpenter bees will excavate tunnels through wooden objects around your home we have seen them in log homes, Doors, Decks, Windowsills, Fence, Roof overhangs, Soffits, behind gudders. the tunnels created by the bees undermine both the appearance and structural integrity of any wooden features of your home, that will lead to costly repairs.

The Difference Between Mice And Rats Appearance

Most generally mice are small with very distinctive oversized ears and a pale brown body with gray touches in their fur. their tails are dark, and they very tiny little feet. Where rats compared to mice are quite large with short ears and brownish/Grayish bodies that sometimes can be marked with black. their tails are dark, but may sometimes have lighter colors underneath. While mice usually weigh no more than a half ounce, Rats however can be as heavy as 12-14 ounces.

           2. Behavior

How mice and rats behave plays a huge role in how our professionals choose to treat the problem. Mice tend to be very eager creatures that set out to explore their surrounding at a young age no matter where they may be going. Rats get around with a lot more caution they aren't likely to venture into new areas right off a young age. they may may spend sometime growing quietly accustomed to their surroundings before they start leaving evidence that they were there.

The question I get a lot from customers is, How do you tell that it's time to contact you to schedule pest control service? You'll either see the rodent or you'll see signs left behind from the rodent. Mice droppings are rod shaped, while rats are more like big capsules. both of these rodents might even gnaw at your wall or furniture and leave tiny bite marks in their wake. since rats like to dig, they may burrow holes around your homes foundation to gain access into the home for warmth. so to answer your question, when you start seeing these signs above you should be contacting
Just like many other insects Ants spend their time in the winter in hibernation mode. When the Ohio weather finally decides what it wants to do and stay warmer with the spring temperatures, Ants feel more comfortable to step out of their shetlered habitats. their first natural instinct is to start their search for food and a warm place to stay over night. with our extinsive research and many years in the pest control business we have also found that spring rain also entices ants to seek a covered space where they can wait it out and start their breeding process. no matter how they have gotten started for the spring there are simple ways to ensure that their removed from your home.

I'm sure you have heard this many times before that the best and easiest way to keep ants from invading your home is taking away any food source possible. packing away your meals and cleaning food crumbs up off the floor as well as the counter tops. We also suggest that you can go around the foundation of your house and seal up any wall crack, window crevices, and foundation gaps.

The most common causes of noise in walls & Attics that we find in the Miami Valley is do to Mice/Rats. Mice can enter your house through a hole the size of dime, so it shouldn't be a surprise that you would hear these pesky critters running through your walls or attic before you even start to see them in the living space. you should pay very close attention to what time of day you are hearing the noises. because Mice are nocturnal, so you would generally hear them late at night or very early in the mornings.

Another consideration for a noisy creature that you could hear thumping in your attic at night could be a Raccoon. Typically Raccoons will use a tree to gain access to the roof, once on the roof raccoons can actually sniff out any spot on the roof that could be starting to rot and they'll dig until they're in your attic. Here in the Dayton, Ohio area we have also seen raccoons knock down panels of soffit around your house. squirrels also will access your attic from tree branches that may be hanging over the top of your roof. we have also seen where squirrels will enter through a chewed dryer vent as well.

The scariest critters that are noisy in attics are Bats. Yes bats are common in this area of Ohio these creatures use

Bats tend to follow drafts of warm or cold air so in the cold months they will follow the warmth coming from the living space down into the warm envelope of your home to stay warm themselves throughout the winter months.

The worst pests that you here about people finding in their home is of course the bedbug while they aren't known carriers of any diseases, these little blood suckers repopulate very quickly, they hide anywhere, and leave droppings and shed skins (exoskeleton) wherever they live. What is even worst bedbug removal can be extremely difficult. Its not impossible, however especially under the direction of a reliable pest control company.

some of you're worried about bedbugs infesting your home, you should learn to recognize their typical hiding spots that can be found not just in your bedroom but throughout the entirety of the house have made a list where you can most common find bedbug.

            Your Mattress:

During the day bedbugs like to hide in the seams of your mattress, also on the underneath side of your box spring , and even inside or on your bed frame. they tend to favor wooden or cloth head boards as well. at night time while your sleeping, they come out when they detect the carbon Dioxide in your breath.

            Closets & Nightstands:

In heavy infestations bedbugs will start to breed and hide in nearby furniture and only come out to feed at night. You should be able to tell what furniture is infested by inspecting it and looking for any fecal staining, blood smears, or exoskeletons are hanging around. if you do share a bed it's not uncommon for only one person to get bitten.

            Baseboards & Door Frames:

A good thing for you to look into doing first before your house/ apartment is treated is to caulk all of your baseboards and door frames if there are in cracks, gaps, or crevices. these are some of their favorite hiding spots when the bed becomes to infested for anymore bedbugs to live. Adult bedbugs can go 12-15 Months without a blood meal so as long as we can treat below the floor the better.

            Furniture:

Bedbugs are found where ever you rest the most. So where you sit to kick back after a long hard day of work and munch on your Cheetos is gonna be where bedbugs hide. bedbugs want to stay as close to their meals as possible. very often we find them in couches, love seats, recliners, chairs and even if you sit on the floor a lot with your back leaned up against the couch, that is where you are going to find your bedbugs issues.

Generally never just assume there are some parts of your house that cant have bedbugs. That's why it is important to be able to recognize the where these pesky critters more likely be hiding, and focus your efforts there. bedbugs spread so easily that vigilance is very important.

            Skunk Removal Tips

Your first reaction might be to "shoo" the skunk away. a skunks first line of defense is to emit a very foul, lingering odor. Skunks have two glands near their anus and when threatened, they spray from their rear end. This yellowish green oily substance packs a noxious odor which permeates the air and clings to most any surface; that is why the skunk smell lingers on for such a long time.Dogs seem to be the most apt to being sprayed by a skunk (because they run up on them) and if skunk spray hits the dog in the eyes or face, it can cause discomfort to your pet. And temporary blindness lasting for several hours.

So, you have a termite problem in your house. Now your searching the web for DIY treatments, or maybe your searching the web to see what company will have the cheapest prices to go with. I will be the first to tell that cheaper is not always better when it comes to something as serious as termites. what I can give you is more information so that you can make the best possible decision.

           Factors Affecting Termite Treatment

There are many different kinds of termite infestations and not all properties are the same. You could have a mid-sized home with a small termite infestation, several different structures that have been infested, or an infestation that is isolated to one area. The list goes on. The cost of a termite treatment varies depending on many other factors as well. so an inspection by a

Its important to know your options, they're a few different options to choose from that will be more effective, or possible cheaper then the others. like putting up a tent over your house for a fumigation to kill the termites. how ever this could be the most expensive option and very outdated because this doesn't prevent the termites from coming back in the future.

Chemical termite barriers involves introducing a termiticide chemical to the soil around the foundation of your home, This keeps termites away from your house, keeping your home safe from any termite damage.

Moles travel though those tunnels at a speed of 90 feet per minute

Moles must eat every 5 hours to keep them from starving to death

Moles have twice as much blood and hemoglobin as other mammals that are the same size so they can breathe easier underground

A common misconception is to control mole’s food source (insects and grubs) in order to reduce their activity, when in fact earthworms are a mole’s primary food source. other mole baits, vibrating devices, and chemicals wont eradicate your mole problem, you'll more likely be forcing them to colonize somewhere else in your lawn, resulting in causing even more damage.

Adult fleas prefer to feed every 2-3 days and must feed before laying eggs

Thorough interior chemical treatment using an adulticide and an insect growth regulator (IGR) is applied. Exterior power-spray treatments are available if needed to address an infestation in the lawn and landscaping. Adulticide materials kill larvae and adult stages while the IGR will prevent eggs and larvae stages from further development. Adulticide materials have a residual life of 4-5 weeks and the IGR’s 3 months once applied. Extensive interior preparation is required prior to treatment (see our Flea Prep Sheet below)

Over the last few years bed bugs have made a comeback, in the 1940's bed bugs were almost eliminated although the banning of effective but harmful chemicals and increased international travel, bed bugs have made a huge come back. Most commonly found in Hotels and apartment complexes people are vulnerable to these insects due to the sheer number of people coming in and out of them.

Bed bugs have been in the United States since the 17th century and have been a known human parasite for thousands of years.

           BED BUG BIOLOGY BASICS

Adults bed bugs are flat, reddish brown in color, and about ¼ inch in size, (about the size of an apple seed).

5 – 10 eggs are laid per day by female bed bugs. Bed bugs can lay up to 500 eggs per lifetime.

It is possible that over the course of a year30,000 offspring can be laid by a single female bed bug.

Within 10-14 days bed bug eggs hatch and within about 35 - 48 days become adults.

Bed bugs most commonly feed on the blood of humans and even some small animals.

Bed bugs are nocturnal (hence bed bugs) and on average feed for about 3 -10 minutes while you are sleeping.

Bed bugs will feed on exposed skin and often bite in patterns of 3 that leave itchy red welts.

The Bed bug life span is about 10 – 12 months but can live months without feeding for 12-18 months.

Bed bugs can carry but do not transmit diseases.

In Ohio there are two types of homes. Those who have Termites and those that will! Although termite species vary throughout the United States, subterranean termites are the type most likely to attack your home here in Ohio. They are social insects that nest in underground colonies. There can be millions of termites in a colony, but you may never see any evidence of them, until a pest management professional discovers they’ve seriously damaged your home. In fact, termites cause more than $5 billion worth of damage each year in the U.S. Alone, (damage not covered by most homeowner’s insurance.) The most common termite species can consume the equivalent of approximately 5-15 feet of a 2×4 per year!

            Biology Basics

Eastern Subterranean Termites have 3 castes: Worker, Soldier, Reproductive or Swarmer's. Swarming termites associate in pairs, breaking off their wings, and burrowing into the soil. Here they mate and only produce a few eggs the first year. When the Queen is mature she will produce about 5,000-10,000 eggs a year. The queen may live up to 25-30 years and Workers may live from 1-2 years. Several years are required before the colony reaches the typical mature size of 70,000 or more Workers. Under ideal conditions a few Swarmer's may be produced after 3 or 4 years. Swarming typically occurs during the spring but it may possibly be followed by one or more smaller swarms until the winter months. Swarming occurs during the daytime, typically during the morning of the day following a warm rain.

Since dealing with a termite infestation is an inevitable fact of life in Ohio, termite protection is highly recommended. Here are some tips that will help to prolong an infestation:

Make sure your soil grade allows moisture to drain away from your house or building

Have 2-4 inches of the buildings foundation extend above the soil grade so that the brick and other siding does not contact the soil grade

Eliminate cellulose close to the structure. This includes: mulch, woodpiles, landscape timbers, foam boards, wood scraps

Avoid deck post from extending beneath the soil grade

Ants are social insects that live in colonies that can have 1 or more queens. An average sized colony is comprised of around 4,000 ants. They can colonize in the ground, leaf clutter, or inside a structure. They have a 3-part segmented body: the Head, Thorax, and Gaster. Reproductive ants are winged. These insects can carry 20 times their body weight and live an average of 45-60 days.

There are several kinds of ants that may occur in and around the home ranging in size from about 1/32 to 3/4 inch long and colored yellowish, light brown, reddish-brown, brownish-black, or jet black. Ants, as all insects, have three body regions. head, thorax, and abdomen. Most are wingless, but the homeowner sometimes may confuse swarming, winged ants with swarming, winged termites, causing alarm. Ants can be easily distinguished from termites by several characteristics:

Ant bodies appear constricted or pinched in at the waist (shaped like a figure 8), while termites do not have the waist constriction.

Ants have elbowed antennae, while termites have straight, bead-like antennae.

Ant wings are transparent or brownish, while termite wings are milky-white or grayish and longer than the body.

Ant wings are firmly attached, while termite wings are easily removed or shed (fall off).

There are several different species of spiders in Ohio but only 2 that are poisonous Brown Recluse and Black Widows. Thorough spider control treatment includes treatment on the exterior, interior, attic, and crawl space (if present). Excessive interior clutter, storage, and undisturbed areas can contribute to the magnitude of the spider population. Exterior conditions such as dense vegetation, wood piles, stored items, yard clutter, etc. can also contribute and allow conducive conditions suitable for spiders. Before we make a recommendation to eliminate a spider problem we will try to determine if Brown Recluse or Black Widow Spiders are present. Once this evaluation is made we will recommend a treatment strategy to best solve your problem. Visit our Identify a Pest to help determine the type of spiders that are bugging you!

Don’t be deceived by their small size – flies can create huge problems in any food environment! They easily irritate customers, distract employees and can quickly result in regulatory citations. They also carry bacteria and disease organisms, and contaminate food and otherwise clean environments. Flies are more than a nuisance, they can damage your brand.

           Flies Carry Disease

Flies pose a threat to public health because they carry disease-causing organisms, viruses and bacteria. Flies are linked to the spread of more than 60 human and animal diseases including infectious hepatitis, conjunctivitis and salmonellosis. Fly management is an essential part of disease prevention among humans and animals.

A fly can carry 4 million different bacteria's on its body and over 28 million in its stomach

           When Flies Eat

When a fly lands on food it VOMITS. The digestive juices, enzymes, and saliva in the vomit begin to break down and dissolve the food. The fly can then suck up the liquid food with its sponge-like mouth-parts and its proboscis. If flies eat food from garbage cans or any other source of germy food, some of those germs stick to the fly’s mouth-parts and when the fly vomits on its next snack (your sandwich?), it transfers some of those germs.

Remember your mother tucking you into bed at night and saying "Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite" before she turned off your night light, you probably thought she was kidding, well she wasn't. Bedbugs once lived in caves and sucked the blood from bats and our prehistoric ancestors, when we left our caves so did they. Most people generally think of bedbugs being found only in dirty conditions. honestly, bedbugs can thrive in even the cleanest of houses and find places to hide. Taking precautions may seem like alot of work, but is necessary if you want to keep your home bedbug free.

Fortunately, there are many things you can do to prevent bringing bed bugs into you home. Vigilance is the key to bed bug prevention. When out in public - whether at a hotel, store, movie theater, doctors office or work place - it is important that you stay cautious of all surroundings.

Covering your bed (both mattress and box-spring) with a bed bug proof mattress cover. Its the #1 way to prevent an infestation. This keeps your bed from becoming infested.
