Bed Bug Removal

Serving Preble, Darke, Montgomery, & Miami Counties

Most people use to think of bedbugs as a make believe bedtime cliche, “Sleep tight don't let the bedbugs bite” truth be told they are very real! Many bed bug infestations are the result of traveling, people pick up bugs in hotel and motel rooms and transport them home in their luggage or on themselves from waiting areas. One may not necessarily see live bed bugs, particularly in a small infestation, since these bugs typically hide during the day in dark protected sites; they are active at night. They often hide near places where their human hosts sleep or rest. A bed bug infestation can be recognized by dark (sometimes rusty) spots of excrement (feces) on sheets and mattresses/box springs, bed clothes, baseboards, and other places where bed bugs hide. Eggshells and shed skins also may be found near their hiding places. A musty odor similar to the scent of stink bugs sometimes can be detected, particularly when bed bug infestations are severe.

  • Eggs hatch within 10– 15 days and can become an adult in 35 -48 days.
  • They feed on the blood of humans and some small animals.
  • They're nocturnal and will normally feed for 3 – 10 minutes while you sleep.
  • Will feed on exposed skin and will often bite in a pattern of 3 bites that can leave itchy red welts.

  • Bed bugs can carry but do not transmit diseases.

Bedbug

Female bed bugs lay 5-10 white Transparent eggs everyday, with new hatch outs every 10-15 days. Bedbugs harbor in cracks and crevices during the day and come out to feed at night.

Adults are small, brownish insects, just under a ¼” long and are relatively flat. They are nearly as wide as they are long, and oval in shape. Immature bed bugs (nymphs) resemble the adults but are much smaller and lighter in color. Newly hatched nymphs are translucent and are no bigger than a pinhead (1 mm).

Liquid Bedbug Treatments

A conventional chemical treatment starts with properly preparing your entire home to be treated. This is done so that when our technicians arrive they can perform a thorough inspection to locate the source of your infestation. It also allows our technicians the ability to strategically place materials to eliminate the activity that they have found throughout your home.

A conventional treatment consists of a three-treatment process which typically includes the use of a combination of Adulticide liquids, Insect Growth Regulators (IGR), dusts and/or aerosols.Dry steam cleaning may be used in areas where it is not practical to use insecticides or pesticides, such as on couches, recliners, love seats, Chairs, Etc. Our liquid treatments are total of 3 treatments that are 2 weeks apart. This program, though very labor-intensive, has an astounding success rate of complete bed bug elimination.

Commercial Bed Bug Treatment & Inspection

For local businesses such as hotels, motels, hospitals, doctors offices, apartment complexes, nursing homes, dorm rooms, and even schools, or movie theaters we recommend scheduling regular bed bug inspections throughout the year. These kinds of business are especially prone to bed bug invasion because the business hosts a huge population people that come and go often. Bed bugs will find new locations to invade by “hitchhiking” from one location to another on luggage, clothing and people. It’s important for businesses with big populations to keep a regular schedule of bed bug inspections because new people are coming in constantly. Every new visitor is a potential bed bug carrier, and new invasions are possible at any time.
